An Ordinance concerning - Baltimore City Commission for Women Reconstitution - For the purpose of reviving and reconstituting the Baltimore City Commission for Women; providing for the appointment and term of members; providing for staff to the Commission; restating the Commission’s powers and duties; correcting, clarifying, and conforming certain language; and providing for a special effective date.

There is a Baltimore City Commission for Women
The Commission should be comprised of 19 members.
Appointment Without Regard To Political Affiliation
The appointment of members must be made without regard to political affiliation.
Terms, Compensation, Vacancies
Members serve for a term of 4 years, concurrent with the terms of the Mayor and the City Council. At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.
Members of the commission are not entitled to compensation for their services but are entitled to reimbursement for expenses incurred, as provided in the ordnance of estimates.
Any vacancy in the membership of the Commission shall be filled by the Mayor pursuant to Article IV, §6 of the City Charter. A member serves until his or her successor is appointed and qualifies. A member appointed to fill a vacancy in an unexpired term or to succeed a member who is holding over serves only for the remainder of that term.
